We decided in September to get married on the island of Hawai’i in December. Barely 3 months to plan! I searched for a wedding planner that did small weddings with the same attention to detail and care of a larger one. After talking with 4, I chose Angy and Beach Glass Weddings, and what a perfect find.
Hurdle #1- Get married in the evening on Kikaua Beach on 12/22/22. Not available?! Angy- got us the beach on 12/18 for the evening, just us. Next best thing.
Hurdle #2- Our officiant unavailable due to a family emergency a week prior to our big day?! Angy- connected us with the perfect, and I mean perfect, officiant, Richard Adoradio. He listened and created a ceremony that made our day magical. Playing Led Zeppelin on the ukulele, need I say more?
Hurdle #3 - Dinner beachside at the Canoe House after the ceremony, but “Festive Season” makes it open only to guest. Angy- worked a miracle and got us a table. Who doesn’t she know on this Island?
Hurdle #4- The worst storm in 20 years arrived a day early, yep, 12/18. Dressed, with hair and make-up by Shaloma at Icicles Salon, we headed to the beach to beat the rain. We didn’t. Angy- Took a dark act of Mother Nature and created light. (Note photos with umbrellas). Now coined our “Wetting Day”, memorialized it in photos, she got us the same beach on 12/22 in the morning, rescheduled hair and make-up and our officiant, got new leis, champagne, macaroons, and more and set up our new Wedding Day.
Hurdle #5- We wanted evening sunset photos, but were now getting married in the morning?? Angy- met us before sunset on 12/22 and made our last wish come true with amazing sunset photos.
And speaking of photos, the images Angy and her assistant Maria captured were more stunning than we could ever imagine. Her creativity, capturing our love and happiness so completely, is nothing short of amazing.
Angy was able to take the lemons Mother Nature delivered and turn them in to the most delicious lemonade ever! We were so lucky it rained, really. In the end, we got the day we wanted, the romantic dinner we had hoped for, the photos of both our Wetting and Wedding days (morning and sunset) and an amazing story to tell for years to come.
If I could give 100 stars I would. I simply don’t believe there is a better, more creative, wedding expert and photographer on the Big Island then Angy and the entire Beach Glass team. Thank you for making our day just that, truly Ours!
