Mau'umae Beach

Secluded and Tranquil Beach

Great for Elopement

Mau'umae Beach is noted for its white sands, serenity, and gentle surf. Nestled in a small bay between Mauna Kea Beach and Spencer Beach it is protected from winds that can be usually felt on the northern part of the island. Backed by rocks with sparse tree cover, this quiet beach is beautiful and just about irresistible with its white sands. Along the back of the beach and at its south end, you’ll find some shade.

The couple who craves adventure will love the 10 minute hike to reach the beach. The hike is on the historic 175-mile Ala Kahakai National Historic Trail. Also known as “Trail by the Sea” that incorporates portions of many ancient Hawaiian footpaths, including the Ala Loa (Long Trail) and many mauka-makai (mountain-to-ocean) routes. The trek is well worth the effort as this beach offers some of the best weather in all of Hawaii. Book a weekday wedding date and experience true seclusion at this off the beaten path beach during the quiet weektime hours.
